Place du Châtelain / Ma Campagne - emblematic district of Brussels

Exactly between Avenue Louise and chaussée de Waterloo, the Châtelain area is a very pleasant place to stroll. This area is a real hidden treasure. On Wednesday, the Place du Chatelain hosts a food market : fruits and organic vegetables, cheeses, Liege waffles and other goodies can be purchased.

The place called "Ma Campagne" is located at the intersection of chaussée de Waterloo, chaussée de Charleroi and avenue Brugmann. Its name comes from the sign of a very popular rural hostel in the XIXth century, « à ma campagne », demolished in 1906 and replaced by a "Art Nouveau" hotel.

The area is rich in Art Nouveau façades, Belgian speciality, as the Horta Museum, Hôtel Hannon, the Ciamberlani House and more.

    I stayed at this studio for a period of 20 months. It is the perfect size for a single person with every amenity that you would require. The area has a number of supermarkets, newsagents and local markets every weekend. It is also very close to the centre and shops.
